Biking bunny 13.04.18

Today is a loved one’s milestone birthday. She has dedicated much of her life to helping others, and continues to do so. She teaches leadership skills to youths aged 12-19, and volunteered for years at a primary school library, to keep it from closing.

She’s also an Air Force (reserve) officer, and more. All while raising 3 fantastic boys – now young men – with her husband.

She and I can’t get together today, on her birthday, because she’s running another youth leadership event this evening. I have the day off, but she’s at work. That’s typical of our lives; if she’s home in the evening, I’m out – and vice-versa.

So, in honour of her birthday, I brought a little stuffed bunny on my bike ride today.* Why would I do that? Because she travels with – and takes photos of – a small plush Ewok; a stuffed animal version of a “Star Wars” creature! I don’t have an Ewok, but thought this little guy was just as cute; his name is Max, and he’s only about 9 cm (3 inches) tall.

So happy birthday, V! Know that I’m thinking of you on your birthday, and every day. We may not be great at saying this, but it’s true: I love you, and am very proud to have you as my -11.5 months. See you soon ,-)

* This was only my second bike ride of the year, of 2018’s ‘cycling with CRPS’ season. Spring has been slow arriving in our area, and winter just doesn’t seem to want to leave. Our weekend weather forecast calls for snow and freezing rain, clear through until Tuesday. So don’t expect to see cycling photos again anytime soon!
